Lenormand and tarot: different decks

Start with the deck’s structure before comparing individual symbols.

Begin with 36 symbols

Petit Lenormand uses a fixed set of 36 base cards. Its familiar subjects, including a rider, a house, a tree, and a letter, form a distinct vocabulary. This index follows that 36-card system.

It is a separate deck and interpretive tradition. Tarot categories such as Major Arcana and Minor Arcana, or upright and reversed meanings, are not used to organise this index.

Read a single card first

Use the number to identify a card, then compare the image with its keywords and complete single-card explanation. Playing card correspondences are shown as their own field.

One illustrated edition, a consistent single-card reference, saved pair interpretations and practical spread lessons. Different reading traditions may use different conventions.
